Steel Shower Enclosure Installation - Lechlade, Oxfordshire

This project in Lechlade, Oxfordshire involved the installation of a bespoke steel-framed shower enclosure, designed to bring a strong architectural element into a refined, high-end bathroom setting.

As shown in the completed installation images, the enclosure features slim steel profiles with carefully proportioned glazing bars, creating a crisp, structured appearance that sits comfortably alongside the natural materials used throughout the space. The steel frame provides definition without overpowering the room, allowing light to flow through while subtly zoning the shower area.

Precision Installation in Solid Marble

A key technical challenge on this project was the requirement to drill and fix directly into solid marble surrounds. This demanded a measured, patient approach using specialist drilling techniques to ensure the marble was not damaged, cracked, or stressed during installation.

All fixings were carefully set out and executed with controlled speeds and appropriate tooling, allowing the steel framework to be securely installed while preserving the integrity of the marble. The supplied images show the clean junctions between steel, glass, and stone, reflecting the level of accuracy required for this type of work.

Attention to Detail

Particular care was taken with:

  • Alignment of the steel glazing bars
  • Consistent sightlines across the enclosure
  • Tight, even gaps between steel, glass, and surrounding finishes
  • Clean transitions at the marble thresholds and returns

The finished result is a shower enclosure that feels purpose-made for the space rather than applied afterward.

Respect for the Finished Interior

Given the completed nature of the bathroom, protecting surrounding finishes was essential. Throughout the installation, the work area was carefully managed to minimise dust, vibration, and risk to adjacent surfaces. This approach ensured the enclosure could be installed efficiently while maintaining the pristine condition of the room.
