Garage to Workshop Conversion – Commercial Aluminium

This project shows the conversion of an existing brick garage into a practical and well-lit workshop space, achieved through the use of commercial-grade aluminium glazing, as shown in the accompanying images.

The original garage opening has been transformed with a full-height aluminium door and glazed frontage, immediately changing the character of the building from storage to usable workspace. The slim, dark aluminium profiles sit confidently against the traditional brickwork, giving the elevation a purposeful, understated appearance that feels appropriate for both residential and light commercial use.

As visible from the exterior and interior views, the glazing allows significantly more natural light into the space, creating a brighter and more comfortable environment for working throughout the day. The aluminium system was selected for its strength, longevity, and low-maintenance qualities, making it well suited to a workshop setting.

At the rear of the building, the window has been fitted with reeded glass, clearly shown in the internal and garden-facing images. This provides privacy while still allowing daylight to filter through, softening views and reducing visual clutter without compromising brightness.

Surveyed and installed by Doorveloper, this project demonstrates how commercial aluminium systems can be successfully integrated into residential outbuildings. The result is a clean, robust conversion that respects the existing structure while delivering a functional, modern workspace.
