Steel Internal Doors – Cheltenham
This Cheltenham project centred on introducing bespoke steel internal doors into a beautifully detailed period home, enhancing both flow and architectural presence while respecting the character of the property.
At the heart of the installation is a steel arched door, carefully designed to echo the existing classical proportions and decorative plasterwork. The arch creates a natural focal point within the hallway, framing views through the house and allowing light to travel elegantly between spaces. Alongside this, we installed a steel double door with sidelights, providing a generous opening while maintaining visual balance and symmetry.
The slim steel sections and refined glazing pattern offer a subtle contrast to the ornate surroundings, striking a considered balance between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary detailing. The result is a series of transitions that feel purposeful, calm, and quietly impressive rather than overtly modern.
As with all Doorveloper projects, equal attention was given to how the work was carried out. Extensive floor protection, careful handling of finished surfaces, and a clean, methodical approach ensured the home remained respected throughout the installation process. This level of care is particularly important in period properties, where finishes and details demand a thoughtful hand.

Surveyed and installed by Doorveloper, this project is a strong example of how steel internal doors can elevate historic interiors, adding structure, light, and acoustic separation without compromising the elegance of the original architecture.
